ITRI is a global organisation with over 70 years experience in tin. First established as the Tin Research and Development Council in 1932, ITRI was funded by governments of tin-producing countries until 1995. It was then privatised by a consortium of tin-producing companies who form the basis of the present organisation. ITRI Board membership today includes most of the major tin producing and smelting companies worldwide.
